Part-time Lecturer

Communication and Media Studies

The UOW College Hong Kong (“UOWCHK”), currently also named as Community College of City University (“CCCU”), is widely acknowledged as one of the leading institutions of its kind in Hong Kong, providing quality tertiary education for about 6,000 students. The College offers a wide range of Associate Degree (AD) programmes, a Diploma in General Studies, and International Language Proficiency Tests with preparatory courses. In association with the University of Wollongong (Australia), the College offers top-up degrees for associate degrees or higher diploma graduates. It has two well-provisioned campuses in Kowloon Tong and Kowloon Bay, with library facilities for all students. With about 220 well-qualified and dedicated staff, the College is highly regarded for its committed teaching focus, its rigor in quality assurance and its emphasis on the whole-person development of students. The College has applied for Cap 320 registration status and expects to offer bachelor’s degree programmes in September 2019.

 

Duties
Appointees are expected to undertake teaching (including project supervision) of communication and / or media related courses in a bachelor degree programme. Appointees are expected to manage course administration duties and materials development in the relevant subject areas. They are also expected to be available for teaching during summer months, attend briefings and other course-related meetings as required.

 

Requirements
Applicants must (a) have a Master’s degree or PhD in Media and Communication, Creative Media Industries, or communication related disciplines, with minimum 3 years related teaching and/or industry experience; (b) be a native or near native fluency in English and evidence of good feedback on teaching. Knowledge of digital media tools is desired.

 

Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
